newest goldwing that $5000 will buy, you dont need “gear” for a goldwing. Most goldwing riders dress like normal folks, not the village people.

    I would buy an SV650n (2002ish model)

a decent leather jacket (perforated), gloves, and the scorpion EXO 400 or 700.

01 Honda F4i, progressive minimum coverage, KBC helmet, Alpinestars textile

    An older Kawasaki KLR 650.
Bike will run about $3000 to $3500. Buy a jet kit and drill out the plug to access the mixture screw. Rejetting the carb and opening up the air box helps the engine breathe better and gets rid of the extreme leanness off idle until you hit 3,000 rpms or so. Install Progressive fork springs and install new fork oil. I changed the gearing from 15t-43t to 16t-45t. Helped lower the rpms on the highway at a given speed.
Helmet, jacket, gloves, rain gear, and riding boots will run about $700 to $1000. It is hard to offer a price on insurance since an age is not given. If under 21, insurance could run $500 a year.
    Good Luck

Hmmmmm. Sport Touring/Nakeds: Older Triumph Speed Triple, Honda Super Blackbird (late ’90s up), Suzuki Bandit 1200, Honda 919.
    Adventure/Dual Sport: KLR650 (newest I can find), Suzuki VStrom 1000, BMW F650GS
Cruisers/Tourers: Vulcan 900, VStar 1300, Honda 750 Magna, Nicest VMax I can find for the price.

    Good question!
