Shift is popular for manufacturing nice-looking waterproof motorcycle clothing and selling them at reasonable prices. Not every rider could afford to purchase the “best” — if there is such thing. After all, what is “best” for one biker can’t be for another. And also, the term “best” usually translates to “cheapest” for a lot of motorcyclists.

We get these Shift Torrent SS waterproof motorcycle clothing back in the winter, with the Shift Fuel street shoes and the Shift Street fighter jacket and. I was asked to assess the Torrent gloves, and I have been wearing them on and off ever since.
The Torrent gloves are very comfortable; they feel like street gloves than a motorcycle glove, which is a great thing. They are lined with a comfortable quite fleece, and although they do not have any tough armor at all, the need of same definitely aids to make them flexible and comfortable. The large size fits me perfectly, with sufficient room for my thumb and fingertips when I am gripping the handlebar.
I guess not everybody likes tough bits on their hand gloves, and I have seen more than a pair of waterproof motorcycle gloves made without armor, so it is possible that sewing or adding armor to the motorcycle gloves will ruin their capability to resist water.
Not that there is not some shield on these gloves, they have additional padding on the back of the knuckles and the tiny knuckles and the rears of the fingers, which are covered in leather as well. The palms are created from lightweight but soft leather, with an extra wear piece below the grip between the forefingers and thumb.
